In what ways do you work with healthcare professionals?

  • Market Research: We want to know more about you and your specialty. Understanding the people who choose to work in healthcare and the work they do helps us to design games that are more compelling and fun to play.
  • Game Testing: We work with HCPs to play through early versions of our games and provide feedback throughout the development process—from game play, to user experience, to medical accuracy. We are always looking for HCPs to help us perfect our game designs.
  • Content Expertise: All of our games require a team of subject matter experts (advisors) who help us bring HCP-submitted cases to life in our games. They collaborate closely and regularly with our teams to brainstorm concepts, provide clinical context and background, and help develop medical content.
  • Networking: Many of our HCPs work for or with institutions, hospitals, societies, associations, or medical schools that could potentially be interested in our technology and expertise. We often collaborate with these entities to help solve gaps in their current solutions.
  • Grants: If you have a specific area that you are passionate about and wish to see in our platform, we can collaborate on grant opportunities to develop the desired content.
  • Efficacy Studies: If you have an interest or expertise in technology-based research, we are always looking for motivated investigators who would like to use our platform and resultant anonymized user data to run behavioral or outcomes-based research projects. Educational research expertise is often preferred but not necessary.

How do I get involved?

Please provide your background and contact information in the above survey. A Level Ex representative will be in touch with you.

How much of a time commitment would it be?

The time commitment varies depending on your role—from playtesting for an hour to speaking to our teams a few times a month as an advisor. However, we always defer to your availability. There is no required minimum time commitment to work with us.

Do I have to travel to Chicago to work with you?

You do not have to live in the Chicago area to work with us. We work with advisors and content contributors from all across the US, and some internationally, to bring various perspectives and a broader range of content to our games.

Will I be compensated for my time?

Yes, you will be compensated for your time. We negotiate compensation and honorariums for the majority of healthcare professionals that we work with.

Do I get academic/scholarly credit for having a case published in-game?

Occasionally cases that are published in our games can be added to your curriculum vitae (CV) and are considered scholarly work towards a promotion. This is specific to your own institution and we recommend inquiring with your institution’s Dean’s office.

What if my desired role is not listed?

We are always looking for ways to work with healthcare professionals, so please email us at to discuss options.
